Drivers Affected: See Attached: UIU DB-20-06-16 Drivers.pdf Make and Models Affected: See Attached: Make-Model DB-20-06-16.pdf Issue: Intel Chipset-related Over-heating Issue Symptoms: It has been observed in several instances that some applications of Intel chipsets may overheat when utilizing more recent driver sets combined with older BIOS/UEFI firmware versions. Resolution: UIU Support strongly recommends that, if customers are experiencing an overheating issue, the firmware (BIOS/UEFI) be updated immediately. If the target machine continues overheating, please contact UIU support for additional troubleshooting. Issue: Audio Driver Bang on Device: Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED Symptoms: Various hardware models which include the Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED component experience driver bangs post-deployment. Resolution: Updated Audio Driver set to correct issues across multiple machines. If the problem persists, UIU Support strongly recommends that the firmware (BIOS/UEFI) be updated immediately. If the problem persists, please contact UIU support for additional troubleshooting. Reminder: The full driver database exceeds 31Gb in size (31.4 Gb IMP). Please follow the guidelines below for optimal performance. This database release still covers Windows 7 through Windows 10 (64-bit only). Note: As of January 16, 2020 , the full UIU driver database available for download from the web site will contain only drivers for supported 64-bit Windows operating systems, (Win7, Win8.1, & Win10). Requests for 32-bit support should be directed to UIU Support. Online Updates supports both 64-bit as well as 32-bit support. Firmware Updates UIU Support strongly recommends making sure that firmware (BIOS/UEFI) on target hardware has been updated to the most recent release from PC manufacturers. As of 1st quarter 2020, UIU Support has noticed that this can be critical in the successful deployment of newer hardware in particular. Additonal Information: Intel Processors Voltage Settings Modification Advisory USB Flash drives need to be formatted with the NTFS file system before the driver database will successfully transfer. Network share access is recommended.
